It was a rather odd start to this film shoot with Heath Joske, simply because there wasn’t any surf. We agreed to meet around 7am on the beach at Caracvelos in Portugal. He was pretty amped to go surfing, despite the poor conditions. Bernardo “Pigmeu” Miranda is from Recife, Brazil. He surfed well in this WQS Lanzarote contest, just losing in the final to an in-form Drew Courtney. He made some crazy backhand barrels, before leaning into really committed floaters as the wave thumped down over the La Santa reef.
